FAQ'S

Here are some frequently asked questions about Ironchip

General

What is IRONCHIP?

In cybersecurity there is a saying: “There are two types of companies: those that have already been ‘hacked’… and those that will be”. In the era of digitalization, where industrial and financial processes are increasingly dependent on automation, hacking means more and more economic losses, leading to the cessation of business, and even to attacks that can endanger the life, independence and freedom of people throughout a country.

The vision of the Ironchip team, is a more digitized, agile and secure future, and for that…our mission is to create the new generation of cybersecurity products that will make it a reality.

Our team of experts in Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, creates scalable, industrializable and disruptive products, designed to ensure critical sectors for the proper functioning of society such as financial, industrial and state.

What is IRONCHIP Location-Based Security (LBS)?

The IRONCHIP team has created an innovative and revolutionary new technology, Location Based Security. Our approach allows us to solve all the major digital identity and authentication challenges previously exposed. We have solved the main security issues, achieving a new way of creating a digital identity associated with a location, but not a GPS location. Our LBS, Location-Based Security technology determines a unique location from the analysis of the radio-waves in that location, creating a unique signature, associated to a non-GPS geolocation, which we call safe zone. IRONCHIP LBS, Location-Based Security, determines if a mobile device is in a safe zone from which access to a service is allowed, analyzes the radio waves of that location in order to allow or deny this operation in a safe and totally anonymous way. It’s that easy, just being in your safe zone you can access the secure operations with our technology, and these will be denied if you are not in a safe place from which to operate.

How do I get in touch with IRONCHIP support?

We are easy to find! You can find us in different places:

As you can see we are easy to find and we are looking forward to it

How can I test IRONCHIP?

It is very simple. If you want to know and see in operation any of our products, Location-Based Authentication and Location-Based AntiFraud, you can contact us and request a demo with our team. You can do it in the section Resources>Demo center. We will be happy to assist you and answer all your questions.

Technology

What problem does Location-Based Security (LBS) solve?

IRONCHIP LBS, Location-Based Security, analyzes the waves detected by a mobile/desktop device to create a digital identity assigned to that location. It does not use latitude and longitude (GPS) to determine if a device is in a location from which access to the service is allowed, but instead uses artificial intelligence that analyzes the radio waves in the environment, creating a unique signature (secure location) that determines if the device is in the secure location.

This way, it prevents a remote attacker from accessing your service if you do not have a specific mobile device in a specific location. In addition, the technology has multiple uses and applications and can be used to prevent physical attacks, access to documents, fraud detection, etc.

How do IRONCHIP A.I. algorithms work?

The AI of IRONCHIP LBS, Location-Based Security, is made up of a set of algorithms of different nature. Each one analyzes the set of wave spectrum for a certain time, giving you an assessment each of different magnitude.

These algorithms have to learn from the zone, which will be used as a password, for a certain time (1min. - 3 min.). The ratio of precision of the safe zone is proportional to the time you learn from each safe zone.

What about the signals?

We analyse all the signals that the device allows us. We mostly use WIFI, GSM, WCDA and LTE alternately, even Bluetooth in some cases but never GPS.

If the signals of the environment change, nothing happens. The algorithms analyze such a large set of signals that any alteration would not interfere with the analysis. In fact, our technology is constantly learning from these changes. If the changes are prolonged in time, the algorithms can learn from the signals and update them progressively.

Accuracy is not the most important thing in the solution, since what matters is that an external agent cannot access the secure sites and that it cannot do it on a large scale because it cannot be in all the sites at the same time.

Even so, the precision is configurable because it depends on the environment and the learning time but some environments we have achieved up to 1 meter of precision.

Why we don’t keep the signature of safe places?

For more security and because it is not necessary for us. At IRONCHIP we believe that not saving them will prevent theft of large-scale credentials that we could experience in the future. Also, biometric solutions, although comfortable, are not a very good approach to security since if they are stolen, no user will be able to change them.

That is why we only keep a mathematical model that is the solution to learning the set of signals. The signals once learned are erased.

Can I integrate?

IRONCHIP use the most widely used security standards such as SAML or OIDC (OpenId-Connect) to integrate with your systems either in windows environments (Microsoft Active Directory) or we provide you with the management platform.

In the user part, we have the possibility of using an SDK to integrate it into your applications, or in any case, you can use the official IRONCHIP Location-Based Authentication application.

Product

What are our products?

From our core technology, Location-Based Security, LBS, two products were born:

One of them to authenticate users using a geographic location as a password, called Location-Based Authentication.

Location-Based Authentication allows to integrate our technology as an identity provider, compatible with all types of standard authentication connectors (SAML, OpenID Connect, RADIUS…) and integrable with all types of applications with our SDKs (Java, C#, Android, iOS, golang).

The other, Location-Based AntiFraud, was created to detect fraud, and allows us to integrate our technology as an anti-fraud system, and thus offer a fraud indicator for each operation, integrable with all types of applications with our SDKs (Java, C#, Android, iOS, golang).

What is the difference of IRONCHIP’s products?

Our products are developed with safety in mind from the design. Our non-gps technology and the set of security and encryption tools allows us to offer characteristics that are totally different from those existing on the market. But not only that, it allows us to offer the first truly secure alternative to authenticate, easier to remember and cheaper than other solutions on the market.

Improving security without increasing user rejection, something that helps introduce cyber security naturally into the company’s culture. Our unique features are:

  • Anti-fraud: Prevents identity theft by certifying that the device used is an authorised device and not another one.
  • Anti-password theft: Prevents an attacker from intercepting messages and finding out passwords, thanks to our military-grade encryption.
  • Anti data leaks: We do not store any user data on our servers, not even the fingerprint of the secret place, avoiding current password leaks.
  • Multi-device: We work on any device, from mobile phones to computers and industrial machines. Any machine can use our technology.

Who is the product aimed at?

The infinite applications of our technology are designed to guarantee security, providing all the security layers that Operators of Essentials Services need.

The organizations named as “Operator of Essentials Services”, are active in crucial areas of the economy and society, such as health, transportation, energy, financial infrastructure, water supply, and more, therefore must be particularly resistant to cyber attacks".

Protecting these services is part of our philosophy and therefore objective, day by day we think and innovate with the different adaptations to the reality of Ironchip, in order to give a secure, current and resistant cybersecurity service.
